Scope, a two-photon microscope control software with multi-area capabilities

Scope's features

  • Frame scanning (sawtooth, bidirectional, plane hopper) with multiple channels in multiple areas
  • Resonance scanning
  • Analog PMT signal integration (with/without FPGA), photon counting (with FPGA), digital and analog demultiplexing (with FPGA)
  • Acquires stacks with a motorized z stage or a fast z device (e.g. an electrically tunable lens or a piezo drive)
  • Acquires time series, with trial-to-trial plane hopping, with external triggering, repeats, gated by an external TTL signal, etc.
  • Displays overlays of several channels, the current scale, current pixel values, adjustable histograms etc.
  • A labbook logging all your recordings and to note down your comments
  • The flexibility to use different kinds of hardware configurations, from a cheap one-card-does it all solution to FPGA based multi-area analog demultiplexing.

Download

Clone via Git from http://sourceforge.net/projects/rkscope (email me for access to the code). There are several branches in the repository: resonance/master: most current branch, regularly updated by the Helmchen lab team
roland: my personal branch, implementing some long-term conceptual changes and adding stuff from the resonance branch (mostly untested)
pre_resonance: more or less stable, before resonance code and additional fixes were added
Please post feature requests and bugs as a ticket at https://sourceforge.net/p/rkscope/tickets/

Scope supports

Reminder

I am by no means a professional programmer. Although I have several years of experience there is no guarantee that the designs and algorithms used in Scope are really good solutions. So, good luck. Roland
