Running Scope

Installation

After you have compiled a release build scope.exe you can copy it (together with e.g. libgalil2.dll) to a directory of your choosing.

usage

After you start Scope you are prompted to choose parameter xml file. Make sure you had tested that file not to **** up your system by running it in Visual Studio as a debug build.

If you add presets for framescans, make sure to save the parameter file afterwards to store these presets for the next start of Scope.

Using the FPGA the first time you start a scan it may take a couple of seconds to initialize the FPGA.

Scope crashes

If Scope crashes it could be that the laser shutter is still open - make sure it is closed before you check out the microscope!

  • Have a look at the log file, some error related information may have been saved there.
  • Try to reproduce the error while running Scope under Visual Studio as a debug build.
  • Do a dry run, switch off the galvos and have a look at the Galvo command signals with an oscilloscope.
  • Open the Windows task manager and have a look at Scope's memory and CPU consumption.
